Nisan 11 and Sign of Your Presence

April 1, 2015

Now as Jesus was departing from the temple, his disciples approached to show him the buildings of the temple. In response he said to them: “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, by no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.” While he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”

Matthew 24:1-3

This the last day Jesus appears in the temple, and it’s the last day of his public ministry before his trial and execution. He spends a busy day teaching by means of many illustrations. One is the vineyard illustration recorded at Matthew 21:33-41, see Chapter 106 of “The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived”,  another is the illustration of the marriage feast, Matthew 22:1-14, see Chapter 107. Jesus exposes the wicked hearts of the Pharisees and evades the traps they set for him in an effort to arrest him. Jesus’ answer to one of these traps includes the famous words, “Pay back Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God”. You may like to read the context of this in Chapter 108.

In the afternoon, Jesus and his apostles are sitting on the Mount of Olives looking down on the temple. The apostles ask the questions in the scripture above. Jesus gives his outstanding Sign of the Last Days. The last days of what? Of Satan’s system and the beginning of the rule of God’s Kingdom. This account is in Chapter 111, along with the illustration of the talents and many more details regarding the beginning of his invisible presence and his coming in kingly power.Doodles076 copyjuno Attar of Roses Envelope web
