Peace: 5×7

July 22, 2014

_ccrl Peace

For this is what Jehovah says:
“Here I am extending to her peace just like a river…

As a mother comforts her son, So I will keep comforting you.

Isaiah 66:12, 13

Jehovah – the God of Peace and Comfort. Is any reason good enough for his permission of wickedness for so long? You may not think so – if you have suffered greatly. You may not think so – if you watch the news. But think of this: Would you criticize a parent who allows their child to undergo surgery, even though it’s painful? What would you say to a parent who refused the needed surgery because they wanted to spare the child any pain? Would you consider them more loving for doing that?

Jehovah, our loving Heavenly Father, sees more and understands more than we do. Like the parent, he hasn’t caused the problem. (See the last three posts for the 3 Reasons how we can know that from the Bible.) But issues have been raised that need to be settled before all God’s intelligent creation, human and angelic.

The finest illustration explaining this that I’ve come across in 25 years of intense Bible study is in the publication, “What Does the Bible Really Teach”, Chapter 11, Page 109, sub-heading “A Vital Issue is Raised”, from paragraph 10 onwards. You can read/listen to this HERE on JW.ORG.

11 minutes of your time may help you to find an answer to this question that so many people ask, but often don’t wait to hear a reply.

(The whole chapter takes 17.42 minutes to listen to. If you just want to hear the illustration, begin the recording at 6.45 minutes.)Doodles076 copy_juno Amoruccio
