The Leaves of the Trees: 5×7″

And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal,

flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb

down the middle of its broad way.

And on this side of the river and on that side

there were trees of life producing twelve crops of fruit,

yielding their fruits each month.

And the leaves of the trees were for the curing of the nations.

Revelation 22:1,2

What prevents God’s will from being done on the earth now? One reason is that we inherited imperfection from our first parents and thus are sinful. Because of this we get sick, we grow old and we die. The ransom sacrifice of Jesus, (the anniversary of which is being observed worldwide this Sunday, 17th April) makes it possible to live forever, as Jehovah purposed.

Another reason is that many people just do not want to do God’s will. They lie, cheat and commit immorality. John 3:16 says “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” So only those choosing to do God’s will can receive the free gift of everlasting life.

Also, many governments do not encourage the doing of God’s will, nor do they take the lead in showing a good example. The Bible says that instead, “Man has dominated man to his injury.” (Ecclesiastes 8:9) After Armageddon, mankind will have only one government, God’s Kingdom. This will usher in wonderful blessings for obedient mankind. Satan and the demons will be removed. Sickness and death will be a thing of the past and the earth will be made into a paradise.

A wonderful opportunity to show your appreciation for these things is taking place this Sunday, 17th April. As I mentioned, this is the anniversary of Jesus’ death, called the Memorial or The Lord’s Evening Meal. Jesus died for us so that we can live forever, and this is the only event that he commanded his disciples to memorialize. You are warmly invited to attend. All you need to bring is your Bible, if you have one.
