Path to Life: 5×7″

November 19, 2010

“You will cause me to know the path of life. Rejoicing to satisfaction is with your face”

Psalm 16:11

Life is so precious. When we lose a loved one in death, we mourn for their loss and may wonder where they are now and what they are doing. The Bible is very clear on the answer to this . Our loving heavenly Father has shared knowledge of the condition of the dead with us. He wants us to have accurate details about our life now – and our prospects for everlasting life to come.

“For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 9:5,6

After death, there is “no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom”. (Eccl 9:10) This is why Jesus likened it to sleep. It has also been compared to the flame of a candle. When the flame is extinguished, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.

But Jehovah invites you to “know the path of life.” There is a hope for the dead.
