WordArt: Eyes of Blind

July 31, 2009

ccrl Eyes of Blind

“The eyes of the blind will be opened.”

Isaiah 35:5

This card is designed to be printed at 5x7in (folded card) size.

This is also a popular size of picture frame, which lends itself to framing

either the finished card or just the front 5×7 part.

The series of dots at the bottom of the card is Braille. It shows the scripture from Isaiah in a basic form of Braille using a free font that I discovered. I learned that a blind person reads a different, more sophisticated form of Braille that uses contractions and combinations, not just a letter by letter “translation”. But for the purposes of this card, I think it will pass! If I was sending this card to someone blind, or to the family of  someone blind, I would emboss the dots to make them raised.

When printing the card on larger paper, it is helpful to have a “Stroke” line for cutting.

To learn how to apply a stroke on a new layer in PS,

Beautiful card, and so clever of you to write in Braille too that one can emboss 🙂 Hugs
